March 31, 2008 – ATLANTA Stroud & Associates, a full service strategic marketing agency, announced it was singled out from a record number of entrants for the Atlanta Chapter of the American Marketing Association’s annual Marketer of the Year Awards. Stroud’s campaign, Oceans of Opportunity/Oceans 13 created for Women in Technology to celebrate the 13th annual WIT Connect fundraising event won as best in class for events with under $50,000 invested.

“In fact, the amount invested was substantially less than $50,000, yet we were able to achieve the objectives we set for the event,” stated Marsha Calfee, WIT co-chair for WIT Connect ’07. “Stroud’s great strategy and creative invigorated the event. Our challenge was generating the same level of excitement that we had in 2006, the first year we held the event at the Georgia Aquarium. The tie in between our 13th event and the Oceans 13 movie was just the ticket!”

Apparently, the judges were also impressed by the tie in, mentioning it as one of the elements that stood out in Stroud’s entry, which was among 130 received across a dozen industries representing more than 70 commercial and non-profit organizations. The ‘Oceans of Opportunity’ Campaign was judged against key AMY criteria including measurable business results delivered, the use of sound business and marketing strategy and how successfully it executed marketing best practices.

“We were surprised and honored to win, to say the least!” said Shawn Stroud, Creative Director and co-Founder of Stroud and Associates. “This award reinforces the direction Stroud has always taken with our clients that the role of great creative work is to deliver superior business results.”
